Your Mission as a Planning Engineer
As a Planning Engineer, your core mission is to ensure the efficient planning, execution, and delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction activities for oil and gas projects. By developing and maintaining detailed schedules and progress metrics, you will play a key role in driving timely, cost-effective, and risk-aware project delivery from concept to completion.
You will be handling these duties and responsibilities as Planning Engineer
- Develop and maintain multi-level project schedules (Level 1 to 4) using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for integrated planning inputs.
- Analyze timelines to identify risks and delays; propose and track corrective actions.
- Regularly update the project schedule to reflect current progress against baseline.
- Produce weekly/monthly progress reports, S-curves, histograms, and look-ahead plans.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust manpower planning as needed.
- Support risk assessment activities and integrate mitigation plans within schedules.
- Participate in internal and client progress meetings, providing planning updates.
- Assist the cost control team with earned value analysis and performance indices.
- Align subcontractor schedules with overall project milestones and deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as Planning Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning/scheduling roles within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong grasp of project management frameworks such as PMBOK and critical path methodology.
- Preferable experience in upstream and/or midstream project settings.
- Keen attention to detail and scheduling accuracy.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Clear, effective communicator with strong reporting skills.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with strong coordination skills.

- Working Days & Hours: Rotation (6x3).
- Location: South of Sirt - Libya.
