Your Mission as an Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician, your primary mission is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our facilities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing electrical solutions that support our operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to the reliability and safety of our projects.

You will be handling these duties and responsibilities as an Electrical Technician

• Troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Inspect circuit breakers and other electrical components.
• Conduct general electrical maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Label system components.
• Perform standard computations relating to electrical load requirements of wiring.
• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
• Identify electrical problems using various testing devices.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
• Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for project facilities and equipment.
• Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.

Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as an Electrical Technician

• High school diploma or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Electrical experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemicals industries.
• Highly observant and analytical.
• Detail-oriented.
• Proficient with hand tools.
• Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade.
• General knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE).
• Familiarity with applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Basic First Aid procedures.
• Understanding of principles of electronic theory as applied to electrical and electronic circuits, wiring, and electrical equipment used in power generation.
• Proficiency in the theory of operation and use of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) units and other computer-based equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action.
• Competence in working from blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches.
• Capability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Experience in installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC-based equipment.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• This role requires climbing, standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects using proper lifting and rigging techniques in awkward and confined spaces.
• Subject to exposure to fumes, dust, and high levels of vibration.
• Exposure to high noise levels requiring ear protection.
• Working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment, necessitating appropriate protective/safety equipment.
• Working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
• Work includes both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Potential after-duty callouts.

• Working Days & Hours: Rotation (6x3)
• Location: South of Sirt - Libya
