Your Mission as a Rig Drilling Manager / Operations Manager

As a Rig Drilling Manager / Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of drilling operations, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and safety compliance. Your leadership will be pivotal in managing rig operations, optimizing drilling performance, and liaising with clients to meet project expectations. You will guide teams to execute drilling programs effectively while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

You Will Be Handling These Duties and Responsibilities as a Rig Drilling Manager / Operations Manager

• Strategic Planning & Engineering: Engage with clients, provide technical advisory, and troubleshoot well design and drilling program challenges.
• Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage drilling budgets, optimize costs, and ensure contract compliance.
• Operations & Execution: Supervise superintendents and rig managers to align field execution with drilling plans.
• Crew & Logistics Management: Oversee crew rotations, shift planning, and rig move logistics through direct reports.
• Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies, conduct audits, and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization: Lead problem-solving efforts for operational challenges, including equipment failures, stuck pipe incidents, and well control issues.
• Financial & Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets, implement cost-control measures, and ensure financial reporting accuracy.
• Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and field personnel to align operations with project objectives.

Qualifications and Skills That Will Allow You to Thrive as a Rig Drilling Manager / Operations Manager

• Minimum 10 years of experience in rig management or a similar role.
• Strong background in drilling operations, well execution, and rig management.
• Experience in drilling activities, including spudding, stuck pipe resolution, mud management, and formation challenges.
• Technical knowledge of rig components, spare parts, drilling engineering, and service provider tools.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills to manage operations and teams effectively.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (with strong English communication skills for international interactions).
• Professional certifications in HSE, Management, and P&L oversight.
• Industry experience in oil & gas drilling contractors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• University-level education in Oil & Gas or Drilling.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in reporting software and operational frameworks.

Additional Information

• Work Type: Office-based with remote work options available upon approval.
• Location: Benghazi (with field visits as needed).
• Work Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 09:00 to 17:00
