Your Mission as the Dean of Petroleum Engineering

The Head of Petroleum Engineering will provide strategic leadership in developing and overseeing high-impact academic programs in the field of petroleum engineering. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive cutting-edge research, applied learning, and industry collaboration to prepare students for the future of energy and sustainable resource management. The dean will play a key role in advancing technological innovation and ensuring that students gain practical experience aligned with industry needs.

You Will Be Handling These Duties and Responsibilities as the Head of Petroleum Engineering

• - Lead the design, implementation, and continuous development of petroleum engineering programs.
• - Ensure curriculum alignment with global industry trends, sustainability practices, and energy sector advancements.
• - Foster faculty excellence through research, professional development, and innovative teaching methodologies.
• - Develop partnerships with leading energy companies, research institutions, and government agencies to enhance student opportunities.
• - Oversee budgeting, resource management, and faculty recruitment to ensure operational excellence.
• - Drive accreditation and quality assurance efforts to uphold high academic standards.
• - Promote interdisciplinary collaboration with other engineering and environmental science fields.
• - Represent the university at national and international conferences, industry events, and academic forums.

Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as the Head of Petroleum Engineering

• - A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field. (Ph.D. or Master’s degree Degrees can be substituted with robust experience)
• - At least 5 years of leadership experience in academia or industry.
• - Expertise in oil and gas exploration, energy sustainability, and emerging petroleum technologies.
• - Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and foster academic-industry collaboration (is a plus).
• - Experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty management (is a plus).
• - Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• - A commitment to student success, academic excellence, and technological innovation.
• - Fluency in both English and Arabic.

Additional Information

• Working Days & Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm.
