Your Mission as the Head of Civil Engineering

The Head of Civil Engineering will provide strategic leadership in developing and overseeing innovative and industry-aligned academic programs in structural, environmental, and transportation engineering. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive technological advancement, applied research, and sustainability-focused education. The dean will ensure that students gain technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience to meet the evolving demands of the construction, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

You Will Be Handling These Duties and Responsibilities as the Head of Civil Engineering

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of civil engineering programs. 
  - Ensure curriculum alignment with industry advancements, including smart infrastructure, sustainability, and digital construction technologies.
• - Foster faculty excellence by promoting research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative teaching methods.
• - Develop partnerships with engineering firms, government agencies, and industry leaders to enhance student career opportunities.
• - Oversee budgeting, faculty recruitment, and resource management to maintain operational excellence.
• - Maintain accreditation and quality assurance standards to uphold academic excellence.
• - Promote design innovation, cultural heritage preservation, and environmental sustainability in architectural and urban planning education.
• - Represent the university at engineering summits, industry conferences, and academic forums to strengthen its presence in the field.

Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as the Head of Civil Engineering

• - A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. (Ph.D. or Master’s degree Degrees can be substituted with robust experience)
• - At least 5 years of leadership experience in academia or industry.
• - Expertise in infrastructure development, sustainability, digital construction, and applied engineering education.
• - Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and foster academic-industry collaboration (is a plus).
• - Experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty management (is a plus).
• - Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• - A commitment to student success, research excellence, and sustainable engineering solutions.
• - Fluency in both English and Arabic.

Additional Information

• Working Days & Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm.
