Your Mission as a Well Control Consultant
As a Well Control Consultant, your mission is to audit, strategize, and reinforce the client’s emergency response and well control infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in evaluating existing assets, enhancing operational readiness, and building a sustainable, future-proof emergency response framework for both onshore and command center operations.
You will be handling these duties and responsibilities as a Well Control Consultant
- Conduct a comprehensive audit and capability assessment of field firefighting and blowout control equipment, including operational recommendations.
- Evaluate current logistical, organizational, and equipment infrastructure for emergency response.
- Analyze the experience and readiness of current personnel, identifying competency gaps.
- Develop and implement a modern, practical emergency response strategy tailored to Libyan operations.
- Define hazard control processes and embed global best practices in well control and fire safety.
- Create site-specific and organization-wide emergency response plans.
- Implement Incident Command Systems across Tripoli and other operational sites.
- Design a detailed well intervention strategy with executable procedures and protocols.
- Recommend additional assets and infrastructure to enhance emergency preparedness.
- Develop a robust training and competency framework, including a coaching and mentoring plan.
- Facilitate full-scale emergency response drills to ensure real-time readiness and communication effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as a Well Control Consultant
- Minimum of 18 years’ experience in delivering well control services to international oil majors such as Shell, BP, Exxon, Chevron, Total, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in successfully managing at least two (2) major well control events involving oil/gas blowouts or fires.
- Extensive hands-on experience in hot tapping, valve drilling, and/or freezing techniques.
- Exposure to a wide range of well control scenarios, from minor incidents to critical emergencies.
- Demonstrated leadership in incident management and emergency strategy formulation.
Additional Information
Work Rotation: Field/City/Home cycle of 3 weeks / 3 weeks / 4 weeks.
Location: Various operational sites in Libya, including Tripoli.
